Abetment of a thing – Abetment of a thing meaning

A person is said to abet doing a thing when he:

(1) instigates a person to do that thing; and/or

(2) engages himself in a conspiracy of doing that thing; and/or

(3) intentionally aids, by any acts or omission, the doing that thing.

Abetment of a criminal act is a crime under the Indian Penal Code, 1860 [see section 107 of Indian Penal Code, 1860]
